Sean Rudman was born in Cork, Ireland and was brought up in England. From 1971 to 1973, he studied painting and drawing at the Academy de Port-Royal in Paris, and then continued his art studies in London. In 1979 he moved to Quebec, where he has presented over 20 solo exhibitions, as well as exhibiting in Toronto and Ottawa. The artist has shown work in a great number of biennials and group exhibitions in Canada and abroad, and has executed eight major public commissions. Sean Rudman has been awarded several prizes and bursaries during his career and his work can be found in a large number of public and private collections.

The artist lives and works in Saint-Maurice in Quebec.
